Civil Engineering

The Department of Civil Engineering was established in 2010 with affiliation to the Biju Patnaik University of Technology, Rourkela. The Department has the intake of 120 students per year. The department is well equipped with all facilities of Civil engineering core-labs as well as having highly qualified experience faculty and staff members. Teaching and industry oriented research is key attractions in civil engineering.

Departmental Highlights :

1. The department has highly developed laboratory facilities and infrastructure. 2. Proximity makes students more exposed to the industrial activities in real time. 3. Constructions of nearby industrial area make students exposed to the field work in Civil Engineering at their door steps. 4. Department is having advanced engineering software like Auto Cad, STAAD, SAP 2000, Primavera. Students are exposed to these software’s to the proficiency level. 5. In support to the infrastructural Development , Civil Engineering Department provides consultancy services to the industry and students are also involved in this process.

To produce high Quality Civil Engineering Professionals by imparting quality training, hands on experience and value education. To strengthen links with Industry via consultancy, workshops, National level seminars and expert talks from the Industry professionals. To attain self-sustainability and overall development through Research, Consultancy and effective teaching. To extend technical expertise to other Institutions around the region and play a role model for others and create technical leaders in society.

Activities :

World water day, World Environment Day, Engineers’ day and other important events related to civil engineering are regularly celebrated every year. Cultural ProCultural Programmes are conducted during the semesters at departmental level. Industry Visits are arranged like cement plant visit, construction site visits so that the students can learn practical aspects of the course studied in class.
