Anti Ragging Cell

Kalam Institute of Technology is committed to maintaining a safe, respectful, and ragging-free campus environment for all students. In line with the directives of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India and guidelines issued by AICTE, the institute has established an Anti-Ragging Cell to effectively prevent and address any incidents of ragging.

To curb the menace of ragging, a meeting was conducted on 11th January 2024 under the leadership of the Principal, involving key stakeholders such as:

  • Hostel Wardens

  • Faculty members

  • Student representatives

  • Parents/Guardians

  • District administration and police authorities

The meeting focused on implementing strict preventive measures, identifying individuals involved in ragging, and ensuring appropriate disciplinary action against offenders.

Objectives of the Anti-Ragging Cell
  • To prevent and eliminate ragging in all forms within the campus

  • To ensure a safe and supportive environment for students

  • To promote healthy physical and psychological development

  • To create awareness about the legal consequences of ragging

  • To take strict action against offenders as per institutional and legal norms
Commitment

The institute maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards ragging and encourages students to report any such incidents without fear. Strict vigilance and continuous monitoring are carried out to ensure a secure and positive learning atmosphere.

The Anti-Ragging Committee is entrusted with the responsibility of maintaining a safe and ragging-free environment within the institute. Its key functions include:

  • To remain fully vigilant and ensure that no incidents of ragging occur within the campus or hostel premises

  • To implement and strictly enforce anti-ragging measures and policies

  • To monitor student activities regularly and identify any signs of ragging or misconduct

  • To ensure that all AICTE guidelines and directives are followed at all times

  • To take immediate and appropriate action against individuals involved in ragging

  • To create awareness among students about the consequences and legal implications of ragging

  • To promote a culture of mutual respect, discipline, and harmony among students
